What's new in Android 5.1?įor developers, Android 5.1 introduces a small set of new APIs. As a part of the Lollipop update, we are releasing the Android 5.1 SDK (API Level 22) which supports the new platform and lets you get started with developing and testing. Keep in mind that not all the modules displayed in the app will be compatible with your device, so select and install them wisely. While an incompatible module won’t brick your device, it will lead to random crashes and reboots.Yesterday we announced Android 5.1, an updated version of the Android Lollipop platform that improves stability, provides better control of notifications, and increases performance. Make sure to activate each module after installing them and then restart your device for the changes to take place.
You can install new modules by going to the ‘Download’ section of the app, and manage existing ones by going into the ‘Modules’ section.

Since Xposed interacts with Android at a very low-level, any update to Android makes the existing version of the framework incompatible with it. The framework when combined with modules developed by various developers allows users to customize nearly every aspect of their device. Xposed framework has become one, if not the most popular, mods in the Android development scene.
